Applause Recieved

Aekka Yadagiri Rao is India's recognised Sculptor. He is among those few contemporary artists who are.adept in creating notable three-dimensional images in all media, be it terracotta, Plaster of Paris, Metal sheet, wood, granite or bronze. Surprisingly, Aekka chose to be a Sculptor in the early 1960s, in spite of knowing fully well the hazards of the life ahead in this field.

Yet, due to commitment to his chosen profession, as well as his hard work, and continuous involvement in learning, experimenting and working in each media Aekka has developed his own idiom. Consequently, he has been assigned to install several monumental sculptures which are much acclaimed for their quality and originality. Hope this trend-setter sculptor, already recognized in India, is better known to the art lovers in other countries. -2012

Yadagiri Rao an un-recognised genius, invests his turns and twists with immense power and plasticity. He Slik is one of those exceptionally imaginative artists who deserve much greater exposure than they have had so far. -1981

... In a three dimensional form as in " Mithuna" by Yadagiri Rao. This kind of art has been made with supreme finesse and humour by such a master as Picasso. However, a single found object, unembellished by any addition and presented as a work of art (like those of Duchamp) has not yet been seen in our halls. - 1970
