‘MIDHUNA’ Aekka yadagiri Rao’s work in metal sculpture was selected and exhibited in the National Exhibition of Art at New Delhi in 1968. Art Crtic Smt. Jaya Appaswamy compared the original efforts of this sculptor with those of world renowned Modern Master like Picaso, Duchamp in her book ‘Modern Indian Sculptor’ published by the Indian Counsil for Cultural Relations, New Delhi in 1971. Through “Midhuna” He succeeded in giving modern expression to the sexual union as found in symbolic forms in Indian Sculpture such as Siva Linga.
