‘ASHWAMEDHA’ OR ‘HORSE AND FLAG’ depicts dynamic majesty, consisting of flat planes with curvilinear and vibrant cross projections. It captures in steel the flight of the flag fluttering  in air vividly and the waving motion of horse’s tail so well as if life breathes in it, won the Gold Medal of the Andhra Pradesh State Lalitha Kala Academy 1974.

Aekka’s ability in creating remarkable three-dimensional stupas and sculptures is clearly revealed as he masters diverse mediums such as granite stone, terracotta, metal sheet, wood, and bronze. One such monumental stupa, a vertical stone sculpture is erected at the Gun Park, Hyderabad in memory of the Telangana martyrs.
